“ There is so much to do here ,” says Richard . “ We like the gym , the restaurant , the big swimming pool , the entertainment , the Beach Club , the activities . We have friends to go to dinner with or boating on the Intracoastal . We have really great neighbors . There are wonderful people at Latitude Margaritaville . We come from all different walks of life , and everyone is always willing to help one another .”
During their home search , Mary liked everything about Latitude Margaritaville and told her husband , “ If they have pickleball courts , I ’ m in !” Mary is a professional pickleball player . She plays competitively in Daytona and teaches pickleball at Latitude Margaritaville . She has International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association ( IPTPA ) training and has been volunteering to teach the game to residents . In August , she will become the official Latitude Margaritaville pickleball pro for the community .
“ This is what I wanted retirement to be ,” says Mary . The couple also enjoys relaxing and entertaining at home . Mary ’ s favorite at home hangouts are the lanai and pool area . “ I love sitting out there and having my coffee ,” she says . “ Our chocolate lab , Tucker , loves the pool ! We also enjoy the big open living and kitchen area . It ’ s very nice for entertaining . Richard is a fabulous cook and we ’ re very close with a group of neighbor couples . We celebrate holidays , birthdays and other special occasions and Richard cooks .”
Mary sums up her experience at Latitude Margaritaville by saying , “ We lived in Oklahoma 33 years and we made a lot of friends . However , living here has been such an easy transition because we ’ re all here for the same reasons : to enjoy life and make new friends .”
