MEET LAURA TRAMMELL HOME SWEET HOME CONTESTANT WINNER MOVES INTO HER NEW HOME IN LATITUDE MARGARITAVILLE DAYTONA BEACH

Who knew the spin of a wheel could change someone ’ s life forever ? That is exactly what happened to sixth grade teacher Laura Trammell of Mission Viejo , California and her husband Dave . In 2021 , Laura , a contestant on Wheel of Fortune , gave the iconic wheel a spin in the Bonus Round . She then solved the puzzle , and Pat Sajak opened the prize envelope revealing that she had won a new home at Latitude Margaritaville . Laura had become the first contestant ever to win a brand-new home on the Wheel of Fortune . a house somewhere !’ I don ’ t think I believed it until pretty much my two hour drive home .”

Laura describes life since her Wheel of Fortune win as a whirlwind . She was still teaching at the time of the win but planning to retire the next year . So she and Dave started discussing what it would mean to make a move from their home in Mission Viejo . They were invited to tour Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach and Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head .

“ It was unbelievable ,” says Laura . “ I just didn ’ t want to freeze up and miss spinning the wheel ! I didn ’ t really understand what was going on . When you ’ re on the show and they explain all about what the prize is , ( for the audience to see ) you don ’ t see any of that as a contestant .”

What did she think when she was told she had won a house at Latitude Margaritaville ? “ I was in shock ! I didn ’ t know where it was , what it would look like . When they told me where it was , I said ohhh , okay ! I called Dave and told him , ‘ I think we just won like

Daytona Beach was their pick . “ We sold our California house , and we are fully committed to giving it a go ,” says Laura . “ All of our kids are so excited for us . They can ’ t wait to come and visit .”

Laura ’ s last day of teaching sixth grade was June 2 , 2022 . While saying goodbye to her students and colleagues was difficult after 23 years of teaching , there were many sweet farewells and the students wrote poems . One of her students wrote , “ Mrs . Trammell is so cool I hope she enjoys her Margaritaville pool !”
