After 35 years living in Honolulu , Hawaii , Linda and Doug Vincent were retiring and decided they were moving to the mainland . “ We started looking a few different places but not specifically for a retirement community ,” says Linda . “ We are both Jimmy Buffett fans so we were aware of Latitude Margaritaville communities .
“ On a trip to Daytona , we drove to see Latitude Margaritaville but decided we weren ’ t going to live in Florida ,” says Doug . “ Then we visited a friend in Hilton Head and saw Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head . That sealed the deal for us !” Before they returned to Hawaii , they had selected their floor plan . “ We did lot of things by phone and email since we were in Hawaii , but they made it very
Doug says having neighbors from all over the U . S . makes for very interesting social lives . “ One of the things we like about Latitude Margaritaville is that everyone comes from somewhere else so they bring their culture , food and all of that . It makes for very great conversation and potlucks !” notes Doug . The Vincents say they feel right at home at Latitude Margaritaville with its laid back and welcoming vibe and still feel the very special Hawaiian Aloha Spirit in their new community . “ Being from Hawaii , we ’ re kind of laid back and let it flow ,” says Doug . “ This is a very special community . People are very caring . If someone needs a ride to the airport or is sick and needs help , people just step right up . Given that we are all from someplace else , it ’ s really something and happened very quickly and organically . It ’ s the Aloha Spirit .”
