The Huckesteins were nearing retirement from their careers in the Northern Virginia school system where both were principals so Huck started looking for possible communities for a move. While surfing the web, he came across Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head. Upon discovering the very community inspired by Jimmy Buffett’ s music and lyrics of tropical escape and relaxation, he had to learn more.
That is how, in February, 2022, the couple was among the first 50 people to visit the Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head sales center. They picked a lot and as they were standing on the balcony of the community’ s Lake Latitude Club to get a better view, Jimmy Buffett’ s tune“ I Have Found Me a Home,” started playing.“ I said to Huck,‘ That’ s our sign,’” recalls Sheila.
The couple moved from Virginia to their new Cabana Bay home at Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head nearly two years ago with their black Golden Doodle, Beesly. Sheila’ s parents later moved to Latitude Margaritaville to join them and live just a three-minute golf cart ride away.
