Ross and Genie also enjoy the live music at the Town Center and the community’ s many social activities. A recent Kentucky Derby Day event included a pre-race party with a colorful derby hat parade followed by a horse race with play steeds. Genie won the first heat with her speedy stick steed Maregaritaville.

They also participated in a Backyard Masters Golf Tournament that was modeled after the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. Exercise rings were used as holes. Players were limited to one golf club that was used to swing at wiffle balls.

It was all topped off at a libation station at the Latitude Margaritaville Blue Guitar Park with refreshments that included refreshing Arnold Palmers and music by the neighborhood band Exit 8. As usual, the event was turned into a charitable benefit with $ 8,000 being raised for Make-A-Wish Foundation and Hardeeville Elementary School.

“ We’ ve made so many new friends here, and our family and friends love to visit,” says Ross.“ It’ s the best move we’ ve ever made!”
